John Londregan, Professor of Politics at Princeton University, states the obvious -- or what used to be obvious in this country -- in his opening remarks on the reasons to ban abortion, "One need not be religious to oppose abortion. A simple look at what it does to new human life and what it has done to contemporary society is more than reason enough...The most straightforward argument for banning abortion, and the one that ultimately persuades me that we should do so, is the...

The study purportedly evaluates the quality of life for children in the most affluent nations by implementing principles found in the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC), a somewhat controversial document in force since September 2, 1990, and one which the United States...

Washington State Capitol Controversy
For those of you who do not follow political correctness battles closely, a sign acknowledging the coming winter solstice was placed in the rotunda of the state capitol by Dan Barker and the Wisconsin-based Freedom From Religion Foundation. The display was granted a permit and placed opposite a nativity scene. This would be unremarkable if not for the editorial comments included in the display that insult the intelligence and decency of those who have religious convictions. The comments include a statement that says, among other things, that “Religion is but myth and superstition that hardens hearts and enslaves minds.”
